Prevent Skin Damage
Also known as isomorphic phenomenon,
Koebner Phenomenon refers to the fact that in persons who have a predisposition to certain skin diseases (ex. psoriasis, vitiligo, etc), skin damage to certain areas can trigger the onset of the skin disease they have predisposition to in the area where the skin was damaged. In this situation, vitiligo can develop at the site of small wounds, abrasions, surgical procedures, eczema, insect bites, etc. For this reason, it is important to avoid skin damage as much as possible.
This response can also occur after
surgical treatment of Vitiligo particularly in cases that have not been selected according to very strict criteria.
